Mission

The Sbarro Institute is home to advanced research into cures for cancer, cardiovascular conditions and other diseases through the identification of their underlying molecular mechanisms. Sbarro staff conducts advanced research devoted to understanding the molecular and cellular workings of cancer and cardiovascular disease, the connection between obesity and cancer, and molecular therapeutics.

Rare cancers

International Research Collaboration to Address Delayed Diagnosis of Rare Gynecological Cancers: Sbarro Director Antonio Giordano has recently published a landmark paper in collaboration with another 28 co-authors hailing from 14 different countries, as part of the GYNOCARE project, which aims to create a unique network between key stakeholders covering basic research on rare gynecological cancers.
