Work with top scientists in your field.
College of Science and Technology (CST) students can conduct research alongside internationally recognized faculty within the college and at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine. Students can earn credit for research during the academic year, and some programs provide financial support. All summer research opportunities provide stipends.
Department- and college-level research options.
CST students may sign up for departmental research courses and earn credit for conducting research under the supervision of a faculty member. Some degree programs allow research course credits to count toward the major, and others require it. Undergraduates should make an appointment with their department faculty advisor to discuss their options for research experience opportunities within their department. These department research opportunities are non-funded but may provide credit hours.
The college also offers select research programs for top performing undergraduate students. The Undergraduate Research Program allows sophomores, juniors and seniors to earn undergraduate credit and possibly a stipend during the fall, spring and summer semesters. The Science Scholars Program gives qualifying incoming students and sophomores the opportunity to participate in paid summer research and academic or professional development experiences. Students receive up to $4,000 in summer funding for three years to complete research projects within CST, Temple University or at another institution.
