Welcome to the College of Science and Technology!
As dean, I am proud to lead a community that catalyzes discovery, service and impact. Our faculty are not only exceptional educators but also top researchers. They are leaders in fields ranging from cancer biology to quantum computing, from renewable energy to machine learning. Their cutting-edge work drives solutions to society’s most pressing challenges, and their mentorship empowers students to join in that mission from day one.
CST offers an exceptional array of undergraduate majors that reflect the breadth and depth of the modern scientific enterprise. Students can pursue specialized pathways such as Applied Mathematics, Cybersecurity, Forensic Chemistry, Neuroscience, Genomic Medicine, Quantum Materials and many others, including new interdisciplinary majors like Ecology, Evolution, and Biodiversity or Integrative Genetics and Genomics.
Our academic community is defined by its spirit of collaboration. We offer two tracks in our Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health Program to meet students’ diverse goals in healthcare. Our Professional Science Master in Sustainability is a cross-college partnership with the College of Liberal Arts. Thanks to close collaborations with Temple’s schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Public Health and Podiatric Medicine, our accelerated programs allow students to begin professional training early in fields such as physician assistant studies, physical therapy, dental medicine, pharmacy and podiatric medicine.
CST students also gain a global perspective through study-abroad programs at our own campuses in Japan and Rome, Temple in Spain at the University of Oviedo, and through exciting faculty-led opportunities like biotechnology in Sicily, biomedical research in Siena, and our sustainability-focused program in Costa Rica.
Our graduate offerings continue to grow with in-demand programs in Bioinformatics, Bioinnovation, Cyber Defense, Forensic Chemistry and High-Performance Computing. We are especially proud of our new partnership with the Cancer Epigenetics Institute at Fox Chase Cancer Center, which is laying the foundation for a new graduate program in epigenetics.
Finally, we are charting a bold course with our CST Vision 2030: a bold strategic academic plan to become a national leader in preparing an AI-ready workforce. We are embedding AI literacy into every aspect of the curriculum, from foundational coursework to advanced research.
Whether you are joining us as a first-year student, graduate researcher, postbacc learner, or member of our faculty or staff, know that CST is a place where talent, collaboration and purpose come together. I invite you to make the most of your time here and to shape the future with us.
Sincerely,
Miguel Mostafá
