As we step out into the world, let us remember the lessons we have learned here.
Let us cherish the friendships we have formed, the mentors who have guided us, and the experiences that have shaped us into the individuals we are today.
Let us embrace the unknown with open minds and open hearts, knowing that every obstacle we encounter is an opportunity for growth and every setback is a steppingstone to success.
But above all, let us never forget the power we hold to make a difference in the world.
Whether it is through groundbreaking research, revolutionary technology, or simply by lending a helping hand to those in need, each one of us has the ability to leave a lasting impact on the world around us.
McDonald earned a BA in biology from Temple University in 1996. She received her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. She is a board-certified pediatrician and owner and chief medical officer of three Philadelphia-based outpatient practices: Memphis Street Pediatrics, Pizzica Pediatrics and Castor Pediatrics. McDonald’s path into medicine developed from her desire to make a difference in the lives of people, especially children. Her decision to pursue medicine was solidified after participating in a summer internship program while attending Temple. During that internship, McDonald shadowed African-American physicians of various specialties. Seeing these physicians provide quality care to patients in her beloved city helped McDonald realize that her dream to be a doctor was attainable.
