Interests
Dr. Wunder’s research interests currently focus on solid electrolytes for lithium and sodium batteries, with an emphasis on solid polymer electrolytes, ion gels composed of polymers and ionic liquids, and soft solid crystals with ion channels, with a view towards enabling the development of safer energy storage devices. In addition, she is investigating the mechanism of formation and colloidal stability of supported lipid bilayers composed of zwitterionic, anionic and cationic lipids on nanoparticle substrates such as silica. These materials have applications in bioremediation of polyaromatic hydrocarbons and drug delivery.
