I have been working with pre-health-focused students since well before earning my doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of Michigan in 2010. I was first introduced to the concept of postbacc pre-health programs from 2012-2014, when I taught my first organic chemistry lectures. It was during this time that I gained appreciation for working with postbacc students because of their drive and maturity. In 2016, I was offered the privilege of joining the CST Postbaccalaureate Pre-Health Program as a curriculum consultant, organic chemistry instructor, and Associate Director. It has been my privilege to be a part this program in numerous additional roles as well for the last 7+ years and it is a great honor to serve as its second Director.

I love working at Temple because I think there is no other school with an institutional identity more founded upon working harder to improve oneself and helping others to do the same, and I cannot imagine a better tradition upon which to build a postbacc program. I love working with postbacc students, not just because of how hard they work, but because they are willing to change, be it their career paths, their academic approaches, their perspectives, priorities, and/or all of the above and then some. There are few things more rewarding than being part of a student’s journey to discovering what they were always capable of and watching them tapping their true potential to make the world a better place.
