Jay Lunden is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Biology. He directs the laboratory program for majors’ introductory biology, including curriculum development, assessment of student learning, and advising for all intro bio students. Jay also teaches Experimental Marine Biology, drawing from his own scholarly expertise in cold-water coral biology and biological oceanography. The first in his family to attend college, Jay holds a B.S. and Ph.D. in Biology. As a member of the Provost’s Teaching Academy, Jay collaborates with the Center for the Advancement of Teaching at Temple to support educational development initiatives on campus. In his capacity, Jay is excited to create and sustain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for students in the intro bio courses and beyond.
