I am currently in the 5th year of my PhD in the Cordes Lab of Temple University with a research focus on successional patterns and abiotic niches of megafauna and biogenic organisms at deep-sea methane seeps off the pacific coast of Costa Rica. Outside of this research, I am a strong advocate for equal representation within ocean science and beyond. Having grown up on the wild coasts of northern England, I have seen first hand the beauty and essential functions that our marine environments offer, but sadly also the damages that we have inflicted upon them. As such, I am passionate about ocean conservation and responsible resource management, believe strongly in the powers of outreach and community engagement, and thoroughly enjoy teaching our future scientists about the knowns and unknowns of the oceans that surround us.
