Educational research is one of my major interests. My goal as an educator is to promote students' learning, critical thinking, motivation, and success.

I strongly believe in the importance of Professional and Personal Development and best teaching practice. So, I regularly participate in workshops and events both locally and nationally. 

I recently participated in the Temple’s Provost’s Teaching Academy (PTA 2021). 

I was accepted and I participated in the Summer Institute (SI) at Princeton (2015) where I earned the HHMI Certification on Undergraduate Education in the Life Sciences.

I earned the graduate-level Teaching in Higher Education Faculty Certificate (Temple University 2014) with focus on Educational Psychology (Spring 2013) and Educational Technology (Spring 2014).

My Poster was selected and presented (Title: Improving students' comprehension of Biology Labs with Audio-Visual Materials) at Temple’s Annual Faculty Conference on Excellence in Teaching (2014).

This made me feel more confident on the importance of implementing new teaching strategies: active learning, peer-learning, and JiTT (Just in Time Teaching). Furthermore, by using a UDL (Universal Design for Learning) lens, students can have access to a variety of learning approaches, from visual to auditory. I believe that presenting information in a variety of ways can benefits all learners. The goal of presenting class materials in multiple ways is to promote students' engagement at different levels of comprehension and stimulate students' interest toward self-learning. 

Higher education in the 21st century require multidisciplinary skills and I think co-teaching is a unique way to convey this message to the future generation of professionals in any field of study. The goal is not simply the mastery of content knowledge or use of new technologies. But it is the mastery of the learning process.
