Dr. Babaian received her PhD from Temple University’s biology department. She has been teaching biology and anatomy for over twenty years. Her interests include visualizing complex biological systems, developing interdisciplinary biology courses and genomic based medicine education as part of Temple’s Genomic Medicine program.  Her areas of interest in biology include ecology, evolution, evo-devo, genomic medicine, the microbiome, and epigenetics. Dr. Babaian’s other work includes creating educational material and biology based graphic novels, and scientific writing. Some of her work has been featured at the NSF, the Academy of Natural Sciences and in publications like American Scientist.
