CST’s Summer Undergraduate Research Program (URP) (Deadline 1/10/2022)

Summer URP is for CST students looking to experience full-time (35 to 40 hours per week) research for 10 to 12 weeks.  Project opportunities are on available at the Main, Ambler and Health Science Campuses. A student stipend up to $4000 stipend is provided for participating students.  More information will be posted to the URP webpage in the spring 2022 semester.

Broad Summer Research Program (BSRP)

The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard offers a nine-week summer research opportunity designed for undergraduates with a commitment to biomedical research and an interest in genomics. BSRP provides students with a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM the opportunity to conduct intensive research in a collaborative community. Participants spend the summer in Cambridge performing original computational or experimental research in labs across the Broad Institute’s research areas, from cancer to infectious disease to computational biology. Thomas Jefferson College of Life Sciences (JCLF) (Deadline 1/15/2022)

JCLF sponsors 10-week summer research positions for juniors/rising seniors. These positions provide opportunities for undergraduate students to work in the laboratories of active faculty researchers. There is a $3,500 stipend and an allowance for campus housing.  Apply to JCLF.

Nemours Summer Undergraduate Research Program (NSURP) (Deadline 1/15/2022)

The NSURP is a 10-week, full-time program that offers opportunities consisting of laboratory-based, translational, and clinical biomedical research projects. The available positions are located at multiple Nemours sites in DE, PA, and FL. During the program, Nemours clinical and research faculty will guide students through the process of formulating and testing hypotheses, interpreting data, and communicating results, while working on active research projects.  Available projects vary each year. Training is provided on human subjects protection, animal welfare, responsible conduct of research, and research ethics. Program activities include a student-focused seminar series, undergraduate-oriented journal club, and opportunities for shadowing (in-person program only) and engagement in other educational programs. All students present their research project and findings to the community via poster sessions and oral presentations. Learn more about NSURP.

Summer Cancer Research Institute Application (SCRI) Deadline 1/14/2022

SCRI is an 8-week intensive summer program supported by the National Cancer Institute U54 grants to Temple University/Fox Chase Cancer Center and Hunter College (TUFCCC/HC) partnership. This program is designed for undergraduate and graduate students who have an interest in pursuing biomedical, clinical and/or population-based career research careers. Trainees will receive hands on research training, mentorship from established investigators at Temple University and Fox Chase Cancer Center, participation in cancer seminars, skill building workshop and ‘how to’ workshops. Apply to SCRI.

University of Utah SPUR (Deadline 1/30/2022)

The purpose of SPUR is to provide undergraduate students with an intensive 10-week research experience under the mentorship of a University of Utah faculty member. The program provides opportunities to gain research experience in a variety of disciplines. Learn more about SPUR. 

NSF Georgia State University College of Engineering and Computing Deadline 1/31/2022

The program will engage you through hands-on research in engineering labs and lectures. You will work side by side with researchers on their on-going projects. Participants will collaborate on research presentations and research articles for publication. The projects proposed for this REU will challenge students, advance knowledge, and produce valuable scholarship. In addition to their research projects, all REU participants will be mentored to develop their scientific knowledge and skills; research methods, including workplace ethics; and technical writing and oral communication. Summer Public Health Scholars Program (SPHSP) (Deadline 1/31/2022)

This is a partnership between Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, College of Dental Medicine, School of Nursing, and the Mailman School of Public Health. The program is 10-weeks and all accepted students will receive housing accommodations on Columbia University’s Morningside campus along with a living stipend. Learn more about SPHSP. 

Summer Undergraduate Minority Research Program (SUMR) Deadline 2/1/2022

The University of Pennsylvania SUMR program is a 12-week summer internship that aims to increase minority representation in graduate school. Learn more about SUMR.

VCU Summer Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP) (Deadline 2/1/2022 for early decision or 3/15/2022 for regular decision)

SAEP is a six-week summer residential program that simulates the first-year of dentistry, medicine, pharmacy or physical therapy professional school instruction. Participants take academically intensive instruction in each of their chosen tracks in addition to non-credit core-coursework in virtual anatomy (head and neck), pharmacology and physiology. SAEP participants attend learning skills and test-taking workshops, mock interviews, professionalism seminars, current health care topics, coaching and community service activities in an inter-professional framework. At the conclusion of the program, participants receive an assessment of their readiness to attend professional school. Learn more about SAEP. 

VCU Allied Health Career Exploration (AHCE) (Deadline 2/1/2022 for early decision or 3/15/2022 for regular decision)

AHCE is a two-week summer for students interested in any of the nine health career programs offered by the VCU College of Health Professions. Participants meet weekdays for full-day department/degree program admissions information, hands-on and interactive activities within each discipline, workshops on current health care topics, interviewing skills, resume development and more. Temple University Diamond Research Scholars (Deadline 2/3/2022)

Premedical Urban Leaders Summer Enrichment (PULSE) Deadline 2/4/2022

The PULSE Program provides academic, clinical, research and service learning opportunities for undergraduate students with a focus on urban health needs. The primary goal of PULSE is to provide students from underrepresented and/or educationally and financially disadvantaged backgrounds exposure to medical professions. Marine Sciences Summer Experience for Undergraduates (REU) (Deadline 2/11/2022)

The Summer REU Program in Marine Science at the University of Delaware, is an NSF-Funded program. Students will work with faculty in a research-intensive setting on a research topic in chemical, physical, or biological oceanography, marine biology or marine geology. UMass Medical School Summer Undergraduate Research Program (Deadline 3/1/2022)

The UMass Chan Medical School Summer Undergraduate Research Program is a non-credit, ten-week, structured research experience sponsored by UMass Chan Office of Outreach Programs. The program consists of “hands-on” laboratory research with an investigator serving as a mentor, role model and advisor  The program is designed to provide participants in-depth exposure to actual bio medical research. Participants will create career-building connections between researchers, post docs, graduate students, and peers.
