The Center for Academic Advising and Professional Development cares about the safety of all students, staff, and faculty. Due to COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, we will be offering all advising and professional development services virtually for the Fall 2020 semester. Therefore, the physical office will not be open.

Our new Fall 2020 hours for the Fall semester:

·Mondays         8:00am – 5:00pm (last appointment at 4:30pm)

·Tuesdays         8:00am – 6:30pm (last appointment at 6:00pm)

·Wednesdays   8:00am – 6:30pm (last appointment at 6:00pm)

·Thursdays       8:00am – 5:00pm (last appointment at 4:30pm)

·Fridays             8:00am – 5:00pm (last appointment at 4:30pm)

 

The College of Science and Technology's Center for Academic Advising and Professional Development guides students from new student orientation through graduation to ensure that they complete all degree requirements. Faculty advisors in each major use their knowledge of departmental curriculum to help students choose courses consistent with their specific career objectives.

Virtual Front Desk

Have a general question? Log on to the CST Virtual Front Desk to speak with a CST peer during these hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

To access the virtual front desk:

  • Go to Zoom.us/join from your computer or mobile device
  • Type in 978-9019-4422 as the Personal Link Name
  • You may need to download the Zoom app on your mobile device

Student Advisor and Advocates 
Each department has a Student Advisor and Advocate who has thorough knowledge of degree requirements and can help resolve academic issues. Learn more about Student Advisor and Advocates.

Scheduling Appointments

If you would like to schedule an appointment, please follow the steps below:

  •  Access the online appointment scheduler through TU Portal (Student Tools Tab). You can select any appointment type as all appointments will be moved to a virtual set up (called Zoom). You will receive an email invite linking you into the Zoom session before the appointment

1. Log into TUPortal
2. Go to Student Tools
3. Scroll to Appointment System
4. Click on the Schedule tab
5. Follow the prompts
6. You will receive the link for the zoom from an advisor. 

If your primary major is not in CST, please contact us at (215) 204-2890 or at CSTADV@temple.edu. You may also use the virutal front desk.

If you are a re-enrolling student, please utilize our virtual front desk to make to an appointment with an advisor. 

Same Day Appointments (SDA)
These appointments are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. To schedule an SDA follow the steps above. SDAs can only be scheduled that day.

Future Advising Appointments
CST students are able to schedule advising appointments with academic advisors at their convenience for a future date. These appointments can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance. To schedule a future appointment, follow the steps above or email CSTADV@temple.edu.

For Professional Development
You can schedule an appointment through the online appointment scheduler in Handshake for either Kelsey Craig or Rose McGinnis - all appointments will be virtual using Zoom, but if you prefer phone, please request it. You will receive a confirmation for your appointment from Handshake with a link to the Zoom meeting. If you will be calling, we will provide you with a number to call for the appointment. Learn more about Student Professional Development.

1.     Log in to Handshake and select the Career Center tab. From this page, click Appointments then Schedule a New Appointment. Select College of Science and Technology where you can meet with either Kelsey Craig or Rose McGinnis.
