Research Interests

1. Rare earth and actinide based highly correlatd electron systems.
We continue searching for novel materials showing valence fluctuation, heavy fermion behavior, coexistence of superconductivity and magnetism, and quantum critical behavior.
2. Spin waves in ferromagnets and antiferromagnets.
The low temperature magnetization of most simple magnetically ordered systems does not appear to agree with conventional spin wave theory. We have been investigating magnetic materials to further check whether the magnetic systems follow a power law scheme.
3. Synthesis and measurements of physical properties of nanocomposites: C-60 polymerized fullerides, doped nanotubes, and iron based oxides.
We continue preparing new nanocomposites and characterizing their structures. These materials exhibit a variety of anomalous electric, magnetic and thermal properties.
