Preparing tomorrow's great math and science teachers
TUteach students graduate with a bachelor of science in their chosen math or science field as well as the academic and experiential qualifications necessary to earn a high school teaching certificate. TUteach is designed to help correct the country's serious science and math educational deficiency. Today, about a third of high school math students and two-thirds of those enrolled in physical science have teachers who did not major in the subject in college or are not certified to teach it. Learn more about TUteach here or read the latest TUteach newsletter.
TUteach graduates possess in-depth content knowledge as well as skill in modern pedagogical practices. A collaboration between Temple's College of Science and Technology and College of Education, based on the highly successful UTeach model, the program features:
- Introductory classes with significant practice teaching in a public classroom—students try teaching without a long-term commitment
- A BS, real classroom experience and ready to earn a teaching certificate in just 4 years
- Scholarships and paid internships offer opportunities for community outreach in education
- Early and intensive field experiences throughout the program
