Dr Deborah Stull has a BA in biology from Cornell University, a PhD in neurobiology from Yale University, and postdoctoral training at Harvard University in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. She began her career working in medical communications/education as a medical writer and then medical writing manager. In these roles, she worked as part of a team to write/manage publications and conference/symposia materials and develop strategic communication plans for global pharmaceutical companies.
She first came to Temple in 2006 as an assistant professor of instruction in the Department of Biology, where she developed and taught a variety of courses, including Systems Neuroscience, Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, Neuropharmacology, and Writing for Biology. Dr. Stull won the Dean’s Distinguished Teaching Award in 2009 and the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2013. She then briefly returned to medical communications to work as a senior medical writer supporting a client with a drug in development for ALS.
Since returning to Temple University in 2016, Dr Stull has held administrative positions in the College of Science and Technology, first as an associate director in the Post Baccalaureate Pre-Health Program and currently as Director of Post Baccalaureate, PSM, and Master’s Program Development in the Office of Graduate Affairs. In her current role, she focuses on growing CST graduate enrollment by developing new programs and establishing partnerships/collaborations to expand existing programs. In addition, she is an associate professor-practice track in the biology department.
