Scholars and researchers committed to discovery

CST graduate students can connect with experts and opportunities to enhance their education. Students can:

  • partner with admissions personnel, advising staff and program directors from orientation to graduation
  • network with Philadelphia's thriving hubs for biotechnology, healthcare and pharma for research opportunities
  • join more than 300 organizations and attend campus events
  • earn recognition for outstanding TA/RA and 3MT competition

CST also supports the professional growth of the college's postdoctoral fellows through events that facilitate career advancement, such as interviewing, job search and networking activities. Partnering with Temple's Office of Postdoctoral Affairs in the Graduate School, CST is working on developing guidelines for enhanced postdoc mentoring.

Postdocs can also connect with the Temple University Postdoctoral Association (TUPA), which strives to support and enhance the experiences of postdoctoral researchers on a career development, social, and cultural basis. TUPA's goals include:

  • Develop inter-departmental social and networking opportunities for postdoctoral scholars from all disciplines in the interest of fostering a community of postdocs at Temple
  • Provide professional development specifically tailored to postdoctoral scholars
  • Promote inclusion and representation of all postdoctoral fellows and advocate for a diverse postdoctoral community
  • Assist transitioning researchers to navigate living in a new city and/or country
  • Generate outreach opportunities to promote science and education in the surrounding communities
