I am an assistant professor in the Biology Department of the College of Science and Technology at Temple University. My group investigates how developing neurons acquire their identities and establish precise synaptic connections, using the Drosophila sensory systems (visual and gustatory) as a model. We combine a variety of cutting-edge approaches, including neurogenetic, single-cell transcriptomics, developmental imaging, and circuit analysis. Our goal is to uncover the fundamental principles that shape brain wiring and sensory computation during development. The lab provides a collegial, inclusive, and supportive environment where team members are encouraged to develop independent projects and new directions aligned with the lab’s mission.
