I am a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Professor Sudhir Kumar (Kumarlab.net) within the Institute for Genomics and Evolutionary Medicine. My research focuses on developing new machine learning and AI methods for comparative genomics to improve our ability to uncover the genetic underpinnings of complex traits. I have a long standing interest in longevity, aging and cancer resistance which have all evolved convergently many times across mammals and other animals. I have also developed tools for phylogenetics, including Treemble for AI assisted extraction of newick strings from published phylogeny images (treemble.org), and a web app called BigTreeViewer for viewing phylogenetic trees, which is capable of displaying massive trees with hundreds of thousands to millions of nodes (BigTreeViewer.net).
