The multi-institution CIRCLES consortium on which Professor Benni Seibold leads the Temple team has received the 2024 IEEE ITS Institutional Lead Award. 

From the award citation: “For conducting the largest open-road traffic control experiment and data capture to date, enabling insight on the effects of high penetration of connected and automated vehicles on safety, traffic flow and energy consumption.”

The ITS Institutional Lead Award is given to those who have made significant and outstanding contributions to the research and applications of ITS-related technologies. This award was established to recognize, promote, stimulate, and publicize major contributions to institutional ITS leadership.
