The Department of Biology includes a core of federally funded, research active faculty dedicated to the training of undergraduate and graduate (including Ph.D.) students, postdoctoral researchers, and research assistant professors, towards the aim of publishing high level papers that advance scientific understanding. Core research areas include evolutionary genomics, ecology and integrative biology, and molecular and cellular biology (including neuroscience and biophysics).
