Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Biology’s website. Our department is one of the largest at Temple University and we are consistently looking to promote the successes of our students, faculty and staff. Our internationally recognized faculty have interdisciplinary approaches to research and teaching that fall broadly into three areas of expertise: Molecular & Cellular Biology, Evolutionary Genomics & Computational Biology, and Ecology & Biodiversity. The depth and breadth of the department allow us to offer several innovative undergraduate degrees under the biology umbrella, including a variety of combined undergraduate and masters programs that can be completed in just five years. An important part of our educational mission seeks to provide students with research opportunities where undergraduate and graduate students interact with faculty members and each other while preparing for future professional endeavors.
