The Biology Department grants undergraduate B.A. and B.S. degrees in addition to a combined B.S. plus M.S. program as well as multiple graduate programs. The department also offers traditional M.S. and M.A. programs as well as a suite of professional science master's programs to train students for technical careers, including in the private sector.

Graduate Certificate Programs

Graduate Certificates have been established for all PSM programs in Biology - Bioinformatics, Bioinnovation, Biotechnology, Sustainability, and Scientific Writing. The classes are taught by the same faculty as the PSM program of the specific disciplines, and students take the same core classes as the PSM students without committing to a capstone project, or a graduate degree requiring 30 credits. The Graduate Certificate provides a mechanism for a working professional or graduate student to complete required coursework within 1 - 2 semesters. Part-time students may finish the certificate in the time required to complete 12 credits of core classes, provided they maintain a GPA of 3.0 of higher. The Graduate Certificate will credential students in their discipline through a curriculum chosen according to their interest.
