Undergraduate Studies in Mathematics At Temple University
The department of mathematics offers classes that serve all STEM majors and many others. We have world-class research and instructional faculty and benefit from serving a large and diverse student body.
We offer stand-alone degrees that are rigorous enough to propel students into graduate programs in mathematics as well as a variety of joint degrees and a minor. Our vibrant environment has something for everyone who loves problem solving, wants to explore mathematical theory, or wants to understand the quantitative tools used in engineering and sciences.
Getting Active Beyond the Classroom
By studying at a Research-1 university, Temple students have access to many interesting opportunities. Temple's Math Department has an active program supporting undergraduate research students that connects to a bigger college-level program. And the department's many weekly research seminars give students the chance to observe the cutting edge of theoretical and applied mathematics.
The Math Department hosts a number of special events, including weekly meetings of our undergraduate math club, a Putnam team, and a chapter of the Association of Women in Mathematics.
