Learn. Grow. Succeed.

Three synonyms, though you are unlikely to find either of them related to the other two in a thesaurus. They also happen to be synergistic and - if you will permit some poetic license - symbiotic. These synergistic, symbiotic synonyms do not belong in a particular order on the landscape of educational process, which itself is not linear in nature. Rather, their relationship is cyclical, akin to the scientific method and many of the most complicated biochemical pathways that pre-health students must dedicate themselves to remembering.

"Where should I start?" one might ask. "Yes!" would be my enthusiastic response.

Concern with where to start is rarely at the forefront of this program's students' minds when they join us for orientation day. They are focused on "the end" – on earning admission to professional school. That is success, they think, and they are correct. Pursuit of that particular flavor of success is why they came to this program and that sweet success is at the core of every aspect of the program’s design. Yet, such an accomplishment is no more an end than a hiker taking their last step on an earthen path as they trod upon a wooden bridge for the first time. It is a transition made, an interface met, a threshold crossed. Nothing stops; it just changes. Much like learning, growth, and success.

Learning begets learning, growth begets growth, success begets success. One might be surprised how much begetting occurs interchangeably between the three of them to build up one's academic momentum. As you peruse the Alumni Newsletters linked below, do not misinterpret our alumni's successes as a single glorious day that they worked hard for. Instead, view their successes as the culmination of a daily cycle of learning answers that resulted in more questions, growing from mistakes, and using the momentary successes of a correct answer and/or the fleeting disappointments of incorrect conclusions to guide their learning and growth successfully into the next day.

We are incredibly proud of our alumni, as they all worked incredibly hard to enjoy their successes in the program, throughout professional school, and beyond. If you are a prospective student, we invite you to come be challenged in our program and to find your next starting point for building academic momentum in pursuit of the many thresholds you have yet to cross.
