Cyber Defense and Information Assurance (PSM)

Are you ready for a career in cybersecurity?

Today, more than ever, our physical and digital worlds are so tightly interwoven that the distinction between the two is rapidly disappearing. Consequently, cyber crime and cyber terrorism have become increasing threats to our privacy, finances, health and national security. The current and projected shortage in our nation’s cybersecurity workforce is so critical that the government has issued directives that emphasize its support to meet this urgent need.

The program draws from the strengths of the diverse industry-aligned partners that bring industry-relevant and resume building classroom activities, standups, executive presentations, Temple facilitated industry events, and guest speakers.

Industry aligned

The Cyber DIA curriculum builds your skill sets with knowledge and practice. Starting with the core courses, students learn offensive-defensive security, and information assurance. Building on the core foundations, students select elective courses to focus on a security domain, e.g. Software Security, Network Security, Forensics, Incident Response, or Risk Management. Students have the flexibility to pursue cyber focused independent studies and complete the master's degree with a Capstone.

Our industry-aligned classroom projects help you build your industry network, and offer Cyber services to the community which also add experiences to your resume. In addition, students continue gaining experiences through table top exercises, capture the flag challenges, presenting industry trends, and participating in pre-capstone rotation of activities designed to use your cyber skills. The combined knowledge and practice sets you up for success as a Cyber Defense and Information Assurance professional.

More than tech

In addition to technological expertise, you'll gain an understanding of Leadership and Ethics, Laws and Regulations, and Compliance, Standards, & Policies within the industry.
